Truffles was on the euthanasia list and only hours away from being put to sleep. UAWR with the help of one of our foster homes was able to save her life and help her to have a new life.

Our little Truffles is in surgery today for a huge abscess she has on her face. It seems it’s from some bad teeth so she is getting a full dental done please draining and clean of the abscess.
Update after Surgery: She has a lot more going on then we originally thought. There is an issue with her jaw and the bone is either infected or she has cancer. A biopsy is being done. Total bill for her is now is $2,568.14. She is much happier and home resting comfortably.

Truffles is back at the vet again today.
She is just really having a tough time. The new meds didn’t seem to help much. We had biopsy originally on 2 different areas which came back as not cancerous but this came on fast and with a vengeance right after her first surgery so…..
Antibiotics and steroids have not helped. Send your prayer for our precious girl!!

Our little Truffles is gone forever.
This poor little girl was such an amazing and stoic girl I just can’t believe the perseverance she had! We pulled her from the shelter 7 years ago and we could tell she had a rough time at her previous home.
Probably bred excessively and never treated well as she was very nervous and afraid of people. Turned out though she was a total love bug and found people comforting as well as she loved cats! She has been in and out of the vets office many times in the last couple months but Sunday night was her final car ride which she always loved to go for! We had been battling what seems like in the end was a very fast moving and invasive cancer. It was on her face and quickly spread to her lungs when Sunday night it was apparent her breathing was becoming labored and compromised so I took her in to the emergency vet where they xrayed her chest and found many tumors all over her lungs. I knew at that point the kindest thing I could do was to help her cross the rainbow bridge. I was with her till the very end and she fell asleep as I talked to her and told her how much we loved her.
Ironic our little Chocolate Truffles crossed the Rainbow bridge in Valentine’s Day??? I don’t know but our little Truffles girl will remain in our hearts forever.
