At UAWR, we welcome many senior dogs who simply need a place to rest, be loved, and receive the care they deserve for whatever time they have left. These sweet souls often come to us from shelters where their age makes them the last to be chosen and the first at risk. In our sanctuary, they’re given a warm, safe environment, veterinary support, and, most importantly, constant love and companionship. We believe every dog deserves comfort, dignity, and kindness in their golden years—and we’re honored to provide that final chapter filled with peace and care.

Life at UAWR for the younger Sanctuary Dog Residents means safety, patience, and unconditional love. Many of these dogs have endured neglect, abuse, or extended time in shelters, leaving them with emotional scars or medical conditions that make adoption unlikely. Here, they are given the time and space to heal at their own pace, surrounded by people who understand their needs. Whether they require ongoing medical care, behavioral support, or simply a quiet place to rest, our sanctuary gives them the second chance they deserve—to live with peace, purpose, and plenty of tail wags.
