Blue is out of the building and safe with UAWR. He needs a lot of TLC and his coat is very matted and he is very skinny. We will have him evaulated with our vets though and work to get him into the groomer as well. But, he is safe and here with us tucked into his new room. He will also be kept in isolation as most shelter dogs do come with or come down with kennel cough and upper respiratory kinda junk which his brother and kennel mate did have.

We can’t wait to show Blue what real Love is and how a dog should be treated like a king! Warm bed, lots of love, and tons of food to fill his hungry belly!

His brother Pinto had to be euthanized at the shelter before we could get there due to extreme sickness likely kennel cough which in an older dog who is so skinny is so hard on them. We are heartbroken we did not have the opportunity to show his brother what love was all about and how it felt as well.

Grooming Day – June 2012

Blue got into the groomers today and it was quite the event. He bit the groomer pretty bad which I feel completely terrible about but as she said he is old and scared and has been thru a a lot. She did get him all finsihed and looking pretty handsome and I am sure he feels a million times better!!

There were tons of fox tails embedded deep into his fur and jabbing into his skin. He has a lot of small wounds because of this but they will all be treated and I am sure healed in no time.

When you cut off all your hair even during the summer time an old guy still needs a cozy warm jacket at night when its a bit cooler.
